At Concentis, we are partnering with a major water infrastructure provider to deliver critical new water and wastewater infrastructure to support growth on Queensland's Sunshine Coast.
The project will provide new pipelines, pump stations, and storage reservoirs for communities, supporting up to 70,000 residents by 2050.
We are seeking a highly skilled
Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to oversee the commissioning and start-up of mechanical systems for the water treatment facilities.
DETAIL OF ROLE:
You will lead and manage mechanical commissioning activities across the water infrastructure projects, ensuring the safe and effective start-up of plant and equipment.
You will liaise closely with vendors, operations teams, and construction managers to achieve a seamless transition to operational readiness.
LOCATION/ROSTER: Sunshine Coast based | Monday–Friday | 3-6 month contract
RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES: • Develop and implement mechanical commissioning strategies, scopes, and execution plans
• Oversee commissioning and testing of mechanical systems and equipment
• Provide technical input and review mechanical design documentation and drawings
• Supervise pre-commissioning and alignment activities to prepare systems for start-up
• Identify and promptly resolve technical issues to maintain project commissioning schedules
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure commissioning activities align with project goals
• Liaise with operations teams to support the ramp-up and transition of the facilities
ABOUT YOU:
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in commissioning within infrastructure, water, or wastewater treatment projects
• Demonstrated ability to prepare and execute commissioning plans
• Strong technical problem-solving skills and sound judgement
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment
• Experience with
potable water treatment systems (especially gas chlorination) is highly desirable
