Applications Lead
Lead the delivery and improvement of critical business applications, platforms and digital services within a large-scale operational environment.

Reporting to the Information Systems leadership team, you’ll lead a team responsible for delivering reliable, secure and customer-focused technology services while remaining hands-on in troubleshooting, platform improvements and operational support. This role will play a key part in improving service maturity, reducing operational risk and ensuring technology solutions continue to support business priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and develop the Application Services team, supporting capability growth, cross-skilling and a strong service-focused culture
- Own the end-to-end delivery and operational support of business applications, databases, reporting services and Microsoft 365 platforms
- Act as a technical escalation point for complex incidents, coordinating troubleshooting and service restoration activities
- Manage and optimise Microsoft 365 services, including governance, administration, lifecycle management and user adoption
- Oversee application portfolio management, identifying opportunities to simplify, standardise and improve technology solutions
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives through ITIL-aligned service management practices including incident, problem, change and knowledge management
- Partner with business stakeholders to prioritise technology improvements, manage demand and maintain service roadmaps
- Improve system resilience through effective documentation, monitoring, support processes, vendor management and risk reduction initiatives
- Proven experience leading application services, enterprise systems or technology operations
- Strong technical knowledge across business applications, databases, integrations and Microsoft 365
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to coach and develop technical teams
- Experience driving service improvements, optimisation initiatives and operational efficiencies
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with a collaborative approach
- ITIL, service management or Microsoft certifications highly regarded
