FEL Engineer

You will be joining a tier-1 mining operation seeking a Front End Loading (FEL) Engineer to support early-stage project development and design activities across site-based projects. In this role, you will ensure engineering concepts are well developed, technically sound, and ready for execution.

You will work across the front-end engineering phase, contributing to concept development through to execution readiness. This position offers exposure to a range of underground mining projects, where you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical, fit-for-purpose engineering solutions.

This role is site-based with FIFO options from Brisbane or Townsville, as well as DIDO opportunities from Mt Isa and Cloncurry, providing flexibility depending on your location and preference.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and refine early-stage engineering concepts and designs
• Ensure technical solutions are fit-for-purpose and execution ready
• Collaborate across civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines
• Support project scoping, feasibility, and design development phases
• Coordinate inputs from stakeholders and technical teams
• Contribute to design reviews and technical assurance processes
• Assist in resolving engineering issues during FEL stages

About you

• Proven background in mining or heavy industry engineering
• Strong capability in detailed and front-end design work
• Experience working across multi-disciplinary project teams
• Effective communicator with strong coordination skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities across project stages
