Field technician – coreshed

• FIFO from Brisbane on a 14/7 roster
• 3-month contract with immediate start
• Core handling and logging support experience required

You will join a well-established mining operation in central west NSW, supporting exploration activities as a Coreshed Field Technician. This short-term contract will see you play a key role in assisting core logging geologists and supporting active drilling programs, ensuring efficient coreshed operations and contributing to project success.

Working on a FIFO basis from Brisbane, you will operate on a 14/7 roster with 12-hour shifts. Charter flights are provided on Mondays and Thursdays, offering a structured and efficient travel schedule. This is an immediate start role, ideal for someone ready to step in and contribute from day one.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist geologists with core logging processes
• Handle, mark up, photograph, and store drill core samples
• Maintain accurate sample tracking and data recording systems
• Support coreshed operations including cutting, sampling, and preparation
• Ensure coreshed cleanliness, organisation, and safety compliance
• Work collaboratively with geologists and site teams to meet production targets

About You

• Previous experience working in a coreshed or supporting core logging activities
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
• Good communication skills and ability to work within a team
• Physically fit and capable of working long shifts in a FIFO environment
• Commitment to safety and maintaining high work standards
