Field Technician

• 8/6 roster supporting surface mining operations
• 6-month contract within a field-based technical team
• Hands-on sampling, drilling support & data collection

You will join a tier-1 mining client operating a large-scale surface mine, supporting day-to-day field-based geological and operational activities. This is an 8/6 roster role, offering a structured work-life balance while working as part of a practical, hands-on technical team.

In this 6-month contract position, you will support field operations including sampling, drilling support, and data collection activities that contribute to accurate geological and production outcomes. You will work closely with geologists, drill and blast crews, and mining teams to ensure high-quality field data is collected and maintained to support operational decision-making.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors in a mining environment, is safety-focused, and takes pride in accurate and reliable fieldwork that directly supports site performance.

Key Responsibilities
• Carry out field sampling and assist with grade control activities
• Support drilling operations through data capture and monitoring
• Collect, label, and manage geological and operational samples
• Assist with basic logging and recording of field observations
• Maintain accurate records and ensure data integrity standards
• Work closely with geology and mining teams on daily site tasks

• Strong commitment to safety in a mining environment
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying site conditions
• Good attention to detail in data collection and recording
• Collaborative approach with clear communication skills
