The Role Reporting directly to the Site Manager, you will play a key leadership role in managing daily on-site operations and supervising subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, and to specification.
You will be responsible for coordinating site activities, driving workflow sequencing, and maintaining strong trade relationships while ensuring quality and compliance standards are upheld at all times.
This is a boots-on-the-ground leadership role requiring strong communication skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to think ahead.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate subcontractors and site teams to ensure efficient delivery of works
- Assist the Site Manager in managing programme timelines and daily site operations
- Monitor productivity and proactively address delays or sequencing clashes
- Lead daily pre-starts and toolbox talks
- Enforce strict adherence to WHS policies and promote a safety-first culture
- Conduct quality checks to ensure works meet drawings and specifications
- Oversee site logistics, deliveries, and material coordination
- Identify and mitigate potential risks before they impact programme
- Maintain accurate daily site records and progress reporting
- Support site compliance, inspections, and defect management
- Proven experience as a General Foreman or Senior Foreman on commercial projects
- Experience working with Tier 1, Tier 2, or reputable Tier 3 principal contractors
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and trade coordination
- Trade-qualified (Carpentry highly regarded) or equivalent practical experience
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct and motivate subcontractors
- Solid understanding of WHS legislation and safety management
- Confident reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications
