IS&T Systems Engineer

Concentis are partnering with a world class, industry-owned company located at the port of Gladstone to source a Systems and Network Engineer to support critical technology systems for their day site operations.
About the role
As the IS&T Systems Engineer, you will support the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of core infrastructure, monitoring, management, and cyber security systems. You’ll work closely with a collaborative IS&T team to ensure systems are secure, stable, and aligned with business requirements.
The role:
- Respond to and resolve system incidents and user requests in a timely manner
- Own incidents end-to-end, including escalation to internal/external stakeholders
- Provision and manage user access, permissions, and security policies
- Install, configure, and maintain infrastructure hardware and software
- Plan and implement system and hardware configuration changes
- Monitor and apply firmware/software updates, patches, and fixes
- Ensure software licensing compliance
- Maintain backups and support recovery processes
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security metrics
- Support cyber security incident investigations and resolution
- Degree in IT, Computer Science or related field
- 3+ years’ experience in infrastructure operations
- ITIL-based service environment experience
- Hands-on across servers (physical/virtual), networking (LAN/WAN/firewalls/wireless) and storage (SAN)
- Experience with enterprise systems incl. monitoring tools, security (XDR, proxy, filtering, remote access), Microsoft stack (AD, Entra, SQL, SharePoint, Teams, M365), and backup/patching
- Strong risk awareness with ability to implement practical controls
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
