Mining Geologist & Drillers Offsiders

• 8/6 roster supporting surface mining operations
• 6-month contract with potential for extension
• Field-based exposure across geology and drilling support

You will join a tier-1 mining client operating a large-scale surface mine, supporting both Mining Geologists and Drillers Offsiders in day-to-day production activities that contribute to safe and efficient mining operations. This is an 8/6 roster role, offering a strong work-life balance while working within a collaborative technical and field-based team.

In this 6-month contract position, you will support grade control activities, drilling support tasks, ore identification, and sampling work. You will assist in ensuring accurate geological and operational data is captured to guide mining decisions. You will work closely with geologists, drillers offsiders, mining, survey, and technical teams to support daily production requirements.
This role will suit someone who enjoys being site-based, working in dynamic field environments, and contributing to both geological and drilling support functions within an open pit setting.

Key Responsibilities
• Support grade control mapping, sampling, and ore marking activities
• Assist drilling operations and drillers offsider field activities
• Collect, validate, and record geological and drilling data
• Maintain accurate geological and drilling documentation and updates
• Work closely with mining, drilling, and survey teams on daily tasks
• Support production reporting and reconciliation processes

About you
• Proven background in mining geology or drilling offsider environments
• Strong capability working in field-based, operational site settings
• Good understanding of grade control or drilling support processes
• Collaborative approach with strong communication and teamwork skills
• Detail-focused with a strong commitment to safety and accuracy
