Project Delivery Lead
Lead brownfield capital projects while strengthening project delivery capability across a major North Queensland mining operation.
- Lead capital projects from concept through to operational handover
- 8/6 roster with FIFO from Brisbane and Townsville
- Shape project governance, systems and team capability
You will work closely with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, HSE, Commercial and external delivery partners to ensure projects are delivered safely, effectively and with minimal disruption. Alongside hands-on delivery, you will help strengthen project governance, systems and processes across the site.
You will also have the opportunity to coach technically strong engineers and project professionals, helping build project management capability and embed practical, consistent approaches to project planning, controls, risk and stakeholder management. The role is based at the North Queensland operation on an 8/6 roster, with FIFO from Brisbane available and Townsville
Key Responsibilities
- Lead capital and brownfield projects through the full delivery lifecycle
- Manage scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality and project resources
- Establish effective project governance, controls and reporting
- Drive disciplined project planning, execution and project readiness
- Coordinate design reviews and constructability assessments
- Manage interfaces across Engineering, Operations, Maintenance and Construction
- Support shutdown planning, construction, commissioning and operational readiness
- Identify project risks and develop practical mitigation strategies
- Ensure projects align with capital plans and operational priorities
- Improve project delivery systems, processes, standards and frameworks
- Coach and mentor engineers to strengthen project management capability
- Manage contractors, delivery partners and commercial requirements
- Build strong stakeholder relationships across the operation
- Provide clear, practical advice to project and operational leadership
- Contribute to longer-term capital planning and portfolio development
About you
- Proven background delivering capital projects in mining, heavy industry or similar
- Strong brownfield project delivery experience within live operational assets
- Strong capability across scope, schedule, cost, risk and governance
- Experience delivering projects through construction, commissioning and handover
- Strong stakeholder, contractor and delivery partner management skills
- Experience improving project systems, frameworks or delivery processes
- Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor and develop project professionals
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Practical, hands-on approach to project delivery
- Ability to work independently and bring stakeholders along with you
- Engineering and/or formal project management qualifications are desirable
