Technical Services Manager
Lead mine planning and technical services for a complex underground and open pit mining operation.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead a multidisciplinary technical team to deliver integrated mine plans ranging from detailed monthly schedules through to Life of Mine planning and long-term project development. Working closely with Mining, Processing, Environment and Maintenance teams, you will provide the technical direction required to optimise production, support future growth projects and deliver operational excellence.
This role offers the opportunity to influence strategic mine planning, mentor a high-performing technical team and contribute to the long-term success of a significant mining operation. Residential, FIFO or DIDO arrangements are available on an 8/6 roster.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the Mining Engineering, Geological and Geotechnical teams
• Develop and maintain detailed monthly, quarterly and Life of Mine plans
• Deliver integrated mine schedules to support safe and efficient production
• Drive continuous improvement across technical services and mine planning
• Provide technical leadership for future mining projects and optimisation studies
• Monitor operational performance and implement improvements against KPIs
• Support annual operating and capital budgeting processes
• Ensure compliance with Queensland mining legislation and site standards
• Collaborate with operational departments to optimise ore delivery and mine performance
• Mentor and develop technical professionals while fostering a strong safety culture
About you
• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent
• Extensive technical mining experience across underground and open pit hard rock operations
• Strong background in mine design, resource and reserve planning, budgeting and Life of Mine planning
• Sound knowledge of Queensland mining legislation and regulatory
requirements
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary technical teams
• Strong commercial and financial understanding
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Mandarin language proficiency is required for this position
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, continuous improvement and operational excellence
