This is an opportunity to be part of something big! A Tier 1 mining company is redefining its approach towards its existing Fixed Plant Condition Monitoring program and is currently looking for dynamic proven Condition Monitoring Technicians with an appetite for change. You will be an integral member of the Reliability Engineering team and be encouraged to challenge existing strategies and tactics, run with your ideas and implement the changes. You will assist and, in some cases, project manage the development of on-line CM Technologies. You will be expected to collect and analyse all CM data streams, providing solutions and recommendations to improve equipment availability through reductions in downtime. You will be heavily involved in the development of CM strategies, Improvement projects, taking part in defect elimination and Root Cause Analysis programs.

This is a minimum
24-month contract in Far North Queensland on a
12:9 roster.
Responsibilities:
- Execute all Condition Monitoring routines with timeliness and impeccable quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including maintenance, operations, and engineering, to ensure a holistic approach to equipment reliability and performance.
- Engage in non-routine inspections, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
- Proactively identify potential issues through trend analysis and historical data, addressing them before they escalate to critical failures.
- Actively participate in and drive Strategy and tactics improvements, Defect Elimination (DE) projects, and improvement activities.
- Ensure meticulous documentation and adhere to administrative task deadlines.
- Contribute to root cause analysis and continuous improvement projects.
Required Qualifications and Experience - Proven background as a Condition Monitoring Technician with a mining background
- Current certification and experience in:
- VCAT 2 in Vibration Analysis with a minimum of 5 years field experience in:
- LV & HV Motors
- Gearboxes (planetary and Helical Bevil)
- Conveyor Systems
- Phase Analysis
- Cross Phase and Orbits of Vibrating Screens
- Crushers
- TCAT 2 in Thermography with experience in:
- Drive Systems
- Pipe Wear
- Electrical Switchboard Inspections
- Thermal Studio Pro Software
- LCAT 2 or MLA II in Lubrication with experience in:
- Laboratory Analysis Interpretation
- Hydrocarbon program management
- Precision Lubrication improvements
- Ultrasonic Lubrication
- Advanced understanding of Microsoft Office
- S.A.P experience in work management and logistics workflows
- Current C Class Manual Driving license
- The Rights to work in Australia
Additional Skills and Experience - Proven background in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) including:
- UT Level 2 in Ultrasonic Flaw Detection (AINDT, BINDT)
- Corrosion testing
- Thickness Testing
- Flaw Detection
- Weld Inspections
- Belt Thickness Testing
- MPI 2 Magnetic Particle Inspection with experience in
- Weld defects
- Surface and subsurface cracks
- Materials Technology (Multi Sector)
- Experience in Precision Alignment (Laser and Dial)
- Experience in Balancing
- Qualifications in Mechanical/Electrical/Reliability Engineering or equivalent
- Bentley Nevada System 1 Exposure
- Exposure to Commtest Scout 240 4 channel analysers
