We are working with a Tier 1 Asset Owner to find a highly skilled
Construction Superintendent – Mechanical & Electrical to lead a site-based delivery team in Far North Queensland. In this leadership role, you will oversee a portfolio of multi-disciplined, contractor-delivered civil earthworks capital projects, ensuring they meet cost, schedule, risk, environmental, and quality requirements.
Current and upcoming projects include a variety of mechanical and electrical works, site infrastructure upgrades, and expansion initiatives. Reporting to the Principal Advisor, this role will be on a rolling 12-month contract, on a 10:4 or 9:5 roster.
Responsibilities - Coordinate key materials, equipment, and workforce requirements.
- Lead, mentor, and develop Construction Leads and infield execution teams.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to build strong working relationships.
- Monitor project progress, quality, and compliance with construction plans.
- Provide construction input into tender reviews and project study phases.
- Develop and implement construction management strategies for each project.
- Identify and mitigate critical project risks while maximising opportunities.
- Manage contract terms, variations, and change processes.
- Ensure safety, site standards, and compliance with legislative requirements.
- Foster continuous improvement and drive project optimisations.
- Supervise construction resources and oversee contractor performance.
- Champion a high-performance culture within the construction team.
About You - 10+ years of project construction and strong contractor supervision experience in SMP & EI disciplines.
- Proven leadership experience in remote project environments.
- Passion for safety and a high-performance team culture.
- Experience managing earthmoving plant and infrastructure projects.
- Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work a flexible FIFO schedule.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and work ethic.
