We are exclusively partnering with a multi-national mining company looking for a talented
Electrical Engineer to join their on-site professional engineering team to support operations on a complex mine in the
Northern Territory. Reporting to the Senior Electrical Engineer, this individual will offer
technical support and governance across fixed plant operations and capital project teams. Additionally, they will provide
mentorship and guidance to developing engineers.
This is a client-side position, flying to a remote mine site in the Northern Territory on a 2/1 roster engagement.
Responsibilities: - Statutory Compliance: Ensure electrical statutory compliance for all electrical project work and audit site compliance with statutory, regulatory, and site electrical engineering standards.
- Standards Review: Regularly review and ensure site compliance with electrical engineering standards.
- Electrical Design & Project Management: Provide electrical design and project management for engineering service requests.
- Site Electrical Drawings: Prepare, develop, maintain, and archive site electrical drawings for all project work, ensuring adherence to design and site standards.
- Scopes of Work & Cost Estimates: Prepare detailed scopes of work and cost estimates for electrical and control system projects.
- Contractor Management: Coordinate and manage external electrical and instrumentation subject matter experts.
- HV Switching Programs: Review and approve HV switching programs.
- Project Support: Provide electrical support to operating and capital projects.
About you: - Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering; ideally CPEng.
- Experience in Electrical Engineering positions in the Mining, Oil & Gas, or Heavy Industrial industries
- Previous exposure to on-site remote operations
- Proven knowledge of High Voltage, Low Voltage works
- Previous exposure to renewable energy systems and an understanding of control systems would be beneficial
- Basic knowledge in SAP

- Preparing scopes of work and cost estimates for electrical and control system project work
- Ensuring electrical statutory compliance for all electrical project work
- Coordinating and managing external contractors
- Ensuring site compliance with electrical engineering standards and reviewing the standards on a regular basis
- Providing electrical support to operating and capital projects
About you: - Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
- Experience in Electrical Engineering positions in the Mining, Oil & Gas, or Heavy Industrial industries
- Previous exposure to on-site remote operations
- Strong knowledge of High Voltage and/or Renewable works
- Good understanding of control systems would be beneficial
- Good knowledge in SAP
