Job Overview: As the Electrical Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of electrical projects in the mining sector, including high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) works, arc flash assessments, switchboard replacements, and overseeing end-of-life replacements. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure the timely and successful delivery of projects while managing budgets and resources effectively. This role is based on-site at Groote Eylandt, NT, and has a flexible work roster.
Key Responsibilities: - Manage the planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of all electrical projects in the mining sector, including HV and LV systems.
- Oversee end-of-life replacements for electrical systems, ensuring proper budget and resource management.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including clients, engineers, and contractors, to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and reports to track progress and meet objectives.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards, including mining-specific requirements.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on project success.
- Manage subcontractors and project teams to ensure efficient and high-quality execution.
- Prepare and deliver project progress reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Performance Objectives: - Deliver projects on schedule and within budget while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with all mining sector safety regulations and standards.
- Effectively manage resources, reducing delays and cost overruns.
- Maintain clear and proactive communication with all stakeholders.
- Identify and mitigate project risks to ensure smooth execution.
- Implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance project efficiency and outcomes.
Key Skills & Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in managing electrical projects within the mining sector.
- Strong knowledge of HV and LV electrical systems, arc flash assessments, and switchboard replacements.
- Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders, contractors, and engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards in the mining industry.
- Problem-solving and risk mitigation abilities.
- Effective leadership and team management skills.
Contract Details: - 12-month contract with the potential for extension.
- 4 days on, 3 days off (4d3d) roster with 12-hour shifts. Option to WFH every second swing after commencement.
