In this
client-side position, you will work a
Tier 1 Mining Asset Owner to oversee the Health and Environment functions for the Capital Delivery Team here in Gladstone.
This 6-month contract comes with a 9-day fortnight for greater work-life balance, and the opportunity for extension! You are required to be Gladstone based, no FIFO.
You will provide support to the Capital Delivery team through coordination and administration of their Health, Safety and Environment processes and procedures.
Key Responsibilities: - Provide guidance and information to the Capital Delivery team on HSSE matters, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations
- Manage compliance with HSSE policies and quality management systems, leading reporting on non-compliance and environmental data
- Coordinate hazard management, health and wellbeing initiatives, safety committee meetings, incident investigations and analysis
- Assists in managing contractors on site with a focus on HSSE compliance and practice
- Deliver HSSE training, including critical risk management and competency verification, while coaching personnel to enhance their skills
- Identify opportunities for HSSE process improvements and assists in the development and implementation of hazard assessments and operational procedures
About You: - Minimum Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety, Diploma in WHS or higher
- Strong knowledge of Regulatory HSEQ requirements
- Proficient in incident investigations, risk assessments as well as hazard and injury management
- Proven ability to develop and deliver HSE training, including safe operation of heavy earthmoving machinery
- Civil construction safety experience in the mining construction industry highly regarded
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment desirable, but not essential
