The Planning Specialist will support multiple projects concurrently, focusing on planning, scheduling, and resource management to ensure alignment with project objectives and timelines. Collaborating closely with project managers, construction teams, and other stakeholders, this role is crucial for developing, maintaining, and reporting project schedules while optimising efficiency and supporting construction supervision teams with detailed planning.
Key Responsibilities: - Project Planning and Scheduling: Execute detailed planning and scheduling activities across multiple projects to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
- Detailed Construction Planning: Support the construction supervision team by providing detailed construction planning to enhance on-site efficiency and coordination.
- Collaboration and Coordination: Build and maintain effective working relationships with project managers, construction teams, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project coordination.
- Project Reporting: Prepare and maintain project schedules and progress reports, providing regular updates to project managers on timeline adherence and variances.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements within project planning to streamline activities and enhance efficiency.
- Resource Management: Monitor project resource allocation and utilisation to support project objectives effectively.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including design consultants and contractors, to facilitate project objectives and proactively address risks.
Performance Objectives: - Support project managers in achieving project milestones and maintaining schedule compliance.
- Deliver accurate and timely project schedules, ensuring data reliability for reporting.
- Identify and lead improvements within planning processes to enhance efficiency.
- Ensure resource management practices effectively support project success.
- Collaborate effectively with the construction supervision team to enhance detailed construction planning and support project execution.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders to minimise project risks.
Key Skills and Qualifications: - Industry Experience: Proven experience in project planning and scheduling within mining, heavy industry, or oil and gas sectors.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in SAP, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Project.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong collaboration skills in a cross-functional PMO environment.
- Documentation and Communication: Excellent documentation abilities and verbal and written communication skills.
- Resource Management: Experience in managing project resources effectively.
