We are exclusively partnering with a Tier-1 Mining Asset Owner to source a
Senior Advisor - Contracts & Procurement to join their major projects team.
You will partner with multiple site stakeholders to provide sourcing, tendering and post-award contract management expertise on a
critical package of rehabilitation and closure-related projects spanning 3 + years.
This is a client-side position based in the
Brisbane office with adhoc site travel, and flexible WFH options provided.
Accountabilities: - Oversees the entire lifecycle of major and more complex contracts, from strategy development through to close-out, in accordance with sound principles and practices, company procedures, and appropriate industry standards and contract law.
- Develop a Project Contracting Plan (PCP) that will outline the strategies to be utilized on a project to ensure the delivery of financial savings and value creation.
- Develop and maintain contract model documents to ensure compliance to corporate legal requirements and any company approved changes.
- Provide timely and quality support to the project teams in negotiating, establishing and administering contracts
- Ensure that the commercial requirements of all contracts and orders are met including timely payments to contractors, submission of securities and releases, and close-out.
- Communicate and report on performance of contracts to management
- Ensure accurate input of data into the contracts administration database and proper use of the contracts administration software
About You: - Degree qualification in Law/Business/Commerce or Engineering or similar.
- Extensive hands-on experience in Contracts and Procurement attained within a project environment.
- Demonstrated experience in contract administration of civil works and experience with resolution of complex claims, delay and extension of time, dispute resolution and negotiated settlements.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Thorough understanding of project management and contracts and procurement concepts.
- Demonstrated experience in managing construction contracts and familiarity with risks associated with construction projects.
- Thorough understanding of the key commercial and legal issues impacting projects.
