Concentis is proud to collaborate with a Tier-1 Mining Asset Owner to source a
Senior/Project Engineer for an innovative closure project on a remote mine in Western Australia accountable for
multiple bulk earthworks and rehabilitation packages. As the
site representative, you will oversee and monitor contractor performance, manage compliance, technical enquiries, schedule and track monthly forecasts.
This is a client-side contract position flying to a remote mine from Perth WA on a
flexible lifestyle roster of
8/6 (all within company time). Accountabilities - Accountable for delivery of assigned construction packages to handover;
- Oversee and monitor the performance of the contactors to ensure compliance with schedule, cost and quality requirements;
- Engaging with the contractors to ensure bulk earthworks and rehabilitation activities are performed safely and in accordance with Rio Tinto standards and procedures;
- Undertake field and engineering documentation reviews to ensure compliance with Rio Tinto project engineering guidance and standards;
- Provide technical support and direction on engineering matters
- Participate in design and constructability reviews to identify opportunities to improve execution and/or operations of the facilities;
- Monitor and expedite procurement activities for construction materials and equipment contracts;
- Prepare progress reports covering critical issues and performance against cost and schedule baselines; and
- Maintain relationships with key stakeholders to drive a culture of collaboration, participation and improvement.
- Coordinate with the closure team to address interface issues and support the closure activities required to transition to post closure
About You - Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Strong experience in project management/engineering within the execution of civil construction and bulk earthworks projects
- Major Projects Mining experience is seen as highly desirable
- Proven track record of monitoring performance of contractors, contracts, and site execution in an owner-side environment.
- Excellent commercial acumen with the ability to handle claims, budgets, and schedule tracking.
- Demonstrable skills in technical problem-solving, design evaluations, and harmonious collaboration.
- Strong team player mentality, with a focus on fostering unity and facilitating team interactions.
